About The Mailbox Club
Our History
In 1958, George and Laura Eager became burdened to reach children for Christ. They began a ministry of presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ in the rural schools of Georgia, Florida and Alabama. This outreach has continued until today, through which over a million children and teenagers have been reached by their assembly programs. As a result of their contact with many thousands of children and young people in the rural areas, the Eagers soon realized that many of those had accepted Christ through their school ministry had little or no opportunity for continued spiritual growth. The Mailbox Club was born out of this need for “follow-up” materials.
The Mailbox Club is a Bible correspondence club ministry. Bible lessons are sent to the student through the mail or hand delivered. The student reads the lesson, fills out the answer sheet and returns it to the “teacher.” The answer sheet is graded and returned to the student along with the next lesson. Eventually, George and his staff wrote, not only children’s courses, but correspondence courses for teens and adults as well.
One of the strengths of The Mailbox Club lessons is that they are always “field tested” by our own office as we actively use them with thousands of students around the country. Today, we have 20 courses in English for people of all ages, beginning at age four through senior citizens! Many of these courses have been translated into other languages.
We view our God-given role of producing Christ-centered Bible correspondence lessons as unique in world evangelization. Our aim is to be pleasing to the Lord pursuing excellence in developing a complete curriculum of lessons. Today, The Mailbox Club ministry literally spans the world. Approximately 20 million Mailbox Club lessons are printed and distributed each year. These lessons are going into over 90 countries worldwide. God is at work in and through The Mailbox Club! We are excited about the work, and we feel the best days are ahead for us as we lift up the Light of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, in a very dark world.
Statement of Faith - We believe in:
- The Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, fully inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings, the supreme authority in faith and practice.
- One holy, almighty God, eternally existent in three coequal Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- The fall of man and his consequent moral depravity.
- Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God and Son of Man, virgin born, Himself very God and His death on the Cross of Calvary as the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
- The bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
- Salvation by grace, a free gift of God, through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
- The imminent, personal return of Jesus Christ.
- The resurrection of the dead, the believer to life everlasting and the unbeliever to eternal condemnation.
- The reality and personality of Satan.
- The lost condition of all people, and therefore our solemn responsibility to preach the Gospel to every creature.
- A practical, separated Christian walk, in an overcoming, victorious life, provided on the basis of faith in Christ’s redemptive work.
- The Church, consisting of all born again believers, the Body and Bride of Christ, represented in local congregations.

Our Strategy
TMC recognizes that Christ’s body and strategy for fulfilling His Great Commission consists of many different parts and Ministries. Not one Calling or Gifting is the same and there’s room and need for all. Our strategy for ministry is based on Colossians 1:28 “Him we preach, warning every man (child), teaching every man (man) in all wisdom, presenting every man (child) perfect in Christ”
We strive to involve and unite as many like-minded role-players as possible to reach the millions of children with the saving message of Jesus Christ.
We support our Partners with Training, Materials and Monitoring all processes.
We focus primarily on children in the 4-14 year age group
We market TMC’s Bible Study materials as a curriculum of 5 to 7 years.
We encourage Club Leaders to facilitate Community based Activities as suggested for every Lesson Course.
We identify and mentor Young Leaders to commit to a life of Ministry.
We mobilize all role-players to participate in a weekly Prayer Group for the children of African Countries.
We continuously renew materials and methods to keep abreast of the ever changing world our children live in.
Our Partners
Our current partners include Evangelism Explosion, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Campus Crusade for Christ, Scripture Union, Source of Light, Compassion International, and multitudes of independend churches, schools and community-based ministries.
